O Christmas Trees

Tis the season! I am so sorry my lovelies for being MIA this week. I had 3 exams and an assignment due on Thursday last week so it was just mayhem. I have one more final this Thursday and then I have a month off so I am getting excited.

It is my favorite time of year. We had a Christmas Open House Party last night and there was so much food and eggnog, I feel a bit rolly polly this morning. I will tell you more about party details later on in the week, but for now let's talk decorations.

I adore Christmas trees. It's my favorite part of the season. This year we even went above and beyond and put up TWO trees! My mum buys a tree ornament for every place she goes so this year we have a travel tree and then our other tree in the living room. I always go for personalized trees. Personally, I'm not a fan of colour cordinated trees. I love collecting tree ornaments and out tree is filled with ornaments that represent members of our family. There are tons of penguins for my penguin crazy mother, hockey skates and building tools for my father, we even have a fat ginger cat and a small black and white cat ornaments for our cats.

I have started a collection of ornaments of my own and I'm going to share some with you.

First though, lets look at the trees!

This is our "family tree" (on the left) that sits in our formal living room. I love coloured lights way more than just white lights.

This is our "travel tree". It's in our brand new media/family room in the basement. I like the look of the tree against the brick wall.

Now I'll show you my favorite ornaments. First, from the family tree.

Last year I got this One Direction ornament in my stocking. I love having these cute faces on my tree! (I always make sure Niall is in the front)

I love my personalized pug ornament. I love pugs so much!

This is my Mary Poppins ornament. I got it in Macy's in New York a few years ago. The worst thing is though that when we went to the till, the sales girl told us the day before, Julie Andrews herself was there signing them for people. Horrible timing! But it's still one of my favourites.

This I Love Lucy ornament was another Christmas gift from a few years ago. I love I Love Lucy. It is my all time favourite show ever and the scene shown here is from one of the greatest TV Christmas moments, in my opinion.

This is my sushi ornament. I'm getting hungry just looking at it!! It's so cute and I love it!

Last, is one of my teddy bears. I got a collection of 8 teddy bear ornaments all dressed differently for my first Christmas. They are always the first thing I put on the tree. There is a princess, an angel, a solider, santa, a reindeer, an elf, a snowman, and then a ballerina, as shown. I love them so much and my tree wouldn't be the same without them!

Now some of our travel ornaments.

First we have our one from the Guinness Factory in Dublin, Ireland. Now while I found Guinness to be revolting, I found Dublin to be one of the more amazing cities in the world. I love it so much.

This is our ornament from Paris. It has a mini Eiffle Tower, Arc de Triumph, and Notre Dame on top. We were in Paris the same summer we went to Dublin.

We've spent a few Christmases in the past in Disney World, usually with a big group of family friends, and the last time we went, we went to Universal Studios and went to the Harry Potter park. Let me tell you, it's incredible! I want to go back so badly! We picked up this little bauble there.

We've been to Disney World many times, and everytime we have been we've gotten at least one ornament. This is just one of the many. I can't even remember which trip this one came from.

This is our Stonehenge ornament. Stonehenge is just one of the coolest and most amazing places I've ever been. This was bought on the same trip to Europe that Dublin and Paris were accomplished. I can sure tell you that a ton of ornaments were brought home during that trip. We have quite a few ornaments from England from our few trips over there.

Last thing I want to show you is two other little decoration things I adore.

This little tree was made by hand by our swwet old neighbour years ago. He has since past on but we put out this tree every year and think fondly of him and his sweet life. I will always put out Mr Clark's Christmas tree every single Christmas.

We bought these new puppy and kitten window decals just this year. How could I resist a puggy wearing a Christmas hat, surrounded by kittens. "How much is that puggy on the window?"

So that's just a glimpse into my house during Christmas time. I'm bit over the top when it comes to decorating. Every inch of our house has at least some sort of decoration.

Well let me know how you guys prepare from the holiday season!

Merry Christmas! Talk soon!
Bye for now!
