Study Survival Guide

Tis the season to write finals, fa la la la la, la la la BLAH!

Yes it's final time so I decided to give the festive cheer a break and give you my tips and tricks to studying. Now I'm no expert and I know it is so important for every single person to develop their very own study techniques but this is my advice and if it helps any of you, that's amazing!

So the first thing that is so important is finding a space to study. It should always be the same place to ensure you can truly focus. It needs to be quiet, well lit, and have a comfortable seat. My dad custom built me a desk when he re-did my bedroom a few years ago and it's the perfect space for me.

It's next to a window so I can have lots of natural light during the day. I am very particular about my study materials. I'll talk more on that in a bit. I have posters and pictures on my wall of One Direction and Ryan Gosling because when I'm getting frustrated and tired, it's nice to look up and see such beautiful faces. It's well lit (although it hasn't photgraphed well).

As I mentioned, I am so picky about my materials. I only use Hilroy 140 page notebooks for studying. I use another type of notebook from school. I also only use Bic ReAction mechanical pencils with .07 lead. (Told you I was picky!) I also always have Bath and Body Works Mint and Eucalyptus room spray on hand to stay as de-stressed as possible. I also have a clock on the desk so I can keep track of time.

Again, I always have a bottle of Mint and Eucalyptus hand cream on hand and Burts Bees is a must. I drink water and lemon while studying to stay focused. I also love colour-coding things so the 4 colurs of thin tip sharpies helps with that. I also love my little pug coaster. What a cute little face to look at!

I am also the queen of post-it notes. When I'm studying they cover the walls surrounding my desk and again, all the different colours help keep things organized. I use big flash cards for test information and objectives, not for writing information on them. I don't do well using flash cards like that.

When I'm studying, I need a silent room. No tv, no music, no noise. I also try to take little brain breaks every 1 1/2- 2 hours.

So that is how I study. If you have any tips and tricks, please comment below and share them with me!
If you're in the exam throes, good luck! And if you're not, but have some coming up, I wish you all the best!!

Bye for now!
